What is Social Media for Kids®?
Social Media for Kids® is a series of programs for students, teachers, and adults that raises awareness about cyber-bullying and other dangers associated with the misuse of social media by young people. Our programs teach internet etiquette, personal responsibility, and the ethics of posting information that can be seen by others online. The workshops and course series educate and ultimately change the attitudes of youth and adults on how social media can be a positive tool used to advance an individual’s academic, social, and professional success and better their community.

Mission Statement
The mission of Social Media for Kids® is to create and raise awareness amongst youth and their families about the positive and potential negative impact of internet-based social media. We ensure this awareness through a curriculum that focuses on social media and multi-media literacy, while integrating the national education standards.

Outcomes
Social Media for Kids® will instill a healthy suspicion regarding the negative uses and consequences of using social media improperly. Participants will leave with tools to combat these potential negatives. They will leave knowing how to use social media for positive outcomes for themselves and their community. Children will be aware that how they present themselves online is permanent and exists on the internet for the rest of their life. Adults will gain tools for talking to kids and monitoring online activity. They will leave with knowledge of the most up to date social media tools, technologies and parental controls.
